guys so you know some experts say that eating small portions more frequently throughout the day is the best type of diet but intermittent fasting is the opposite and scientists with the National Institute on Aging claim it could make you live longer the recent study in mice showed increasing time between meals made mice healthier overall and live longer compared to those who ate more frequently and I spoke to one local woman who says it works and was the JumpStart she needed to achieve major weight loss tika collins has been training for bodybuilding competitions for five years I am a nationally ranked physique competitor she also trains other people to look their best and knows it’s a struggle personally she’s been on and off of diets until she found one help shed the pounds she couldn’t get off with workouts alone I was a cardio and nothing just seems to work and so once I researched intermediate fasting I actually incorporated into myself and my diet and my workouts and everything that I was doing and I lost about 30 pounds in two months she went from looking like this to this there are several ways to try intermittent fasting the 16-8 method is skipping breakfast and restricting your daily eating to eight hours such as 1 to 9 p.m. then you fast for 16 the 5:2 method is where you consume 5 to 600 calories on two non-consecutive days of the week but eat normally the other 5 eat stop eat is fasting for an entire 24 hours once or twice a week tika says the 16/8 is her favorite you can eat a meal every two hours and I didn’t think they just works for people scheduled better and there’s certain people she swears this will work for you just have this this that stubborn fat like ok I’ve been working out my legs against home arms against home but this right here you doesn’t want to go away so she says that this diet for some people is not good such as people who have suffered from an eating disorder or diabetics because obviously you guys know that to keep blood Sugar’s in check you got to be kind of eating throughout the day so there are some people who shouldn’t do this but this is a classic talk to your doctor before you do it kind of situation it is because I mean when you’re not giving your body fuel yeah you know you there’s risks involved so you definitely want to talk to your doctor about chest when I got into all the little small meals or what most people would call my grave time yeah that was the one thing I liked learning about this because I had heard about intermittent fasting and I was like I can’t just not eat right I’m understanding better now it’s just those time periods of the day when you wouldn’t eat managed to fit into different people’s kinds of lifestyles right right yeah I’m not doing that thing where you don’t eat for 24 hours we’re on the ice just be hangry all right
