[intro music] Hi everyone, welcome to the Rocofit recipes. I’ve got another simple, amazing one for you. This one is a substitute for linguini. The one thing about going on the Primal Diet that can be daunting for a lot of people, is giving up pasta. It seems to be such a staple. But it’s not the pasta we often miss, it’s all these amazing sauces that we put on pasta that we miss. This is the perfect answer, you’re going to love this substitute, it’s not even going to have you thinking about pasta, any longer. Let’s get going. All you need is a zucchini, some butter, salt and pepper, and then you need, kinda like a carrot peeler, this one cuts slightly thicker than carrot peelers would. Then a knife, something to mix with, and a frying pan. That’s it, it can’t get any simpler. Let’s get started. What I’m gonna do, is just cut off the ends, perfect, and then, I’m gonna take my peeler, and I’m gonna carefully start to just peel nice, long strips. You can either keep the skin or take it off, it depends on how you want it, but I wouldn’t peel it all off because it gives a really nice color. I couldn’t believe how amazing it tastes. And, actually, you know I said this is really nice with different sauces that we typically use for pasta, it’s also incredible just on its own. So, just with a little bit of salt and pepper and some butter, and a little bit of extra seasoning, just the best. For the sake of this video, we’re just gonna do half for the moment. Ok, so now I’m gonna stack a few of these together, I’m gonna take my knife, and I’m just gonna cut this, right in half. Now, I’m cutting it in half because it was quite a thin zucchini; if you get like, a really big, thick one, you might wanna cut it in threes or fours. What you want is just these nice, fun, long, strips. These are just so cool. Ok, so I’m going to heat my frying pan, and I’m going to put just a little bit of butter, a little bit, or make it a bit extra, however you like it, you can’t go wrong with this recipe. We’re going to wait until it’s quite hot, it was an incredible discovery, I’m just so excited about this recipe. The best thing I like about this, is it’s another way to get extra veggies in. Though, even if you’re not a fan of zucchini, still give this a try. Ok, here we go, so I’m gonna drop this into the pan, I’m going to separate them a little bit, as I am putting them in. Now for this bit, if you had some tongs, that’s probably ideal, so you can really rotate them. I’ve just moved it. I don’t have any tongs, so I’m missing a lot of kitchen necessities. So, I’m just going to mix it with this wooden spoon, which is just fine as well. As that’s cooking, I’m gonna add a bit of salt. Now this is the bit where you can get creative, and add seeds, or slivered almonds, or anything like that, that’s just going to add to the texture, and, again, it’s just a personal preference: do you like things plain, or do you like them a little more exciting? I dunno. For me, it kind of depends on my main dish. Sometimes I like it plain, sometimes I add extra bits. How long you cook this for its up to you: it’s kind of like “how did you like your pasta?” Did you like it al dente, did you like it a little bit softer? It’s complete personal preference. So, this looks done, I like it a little bit al dente, I’m just gonna take this, place it on a plate. Oh my goodness, this is just incredible. The texture is like noodles, and, as you can see, it even looks like pasta. Amazing!
