Peanut Butter Chocolate and Banana Smoothie

What’s up guys!?
Danny from Danny Mac’s Kitchen! Good to see you as always!
So if you’re like me when you wake up in the morning
you’re just running around pressed for time You don’t eat a healthy breakfast
It happens to us all And you know what? You don’t
want to go out and get fast food because it is just not a good
way to start your day So I have something really great for you
It’s a smoothie, it’s healthy, it’s fast, it’s fun
Let me show you how to make it real quick Hey guys, so this is a Brian
inspired recipe, this is is “go to” in the morning on the run
Banana, chocolaty, peanut buttery smoothie We’re going to be using some bananas today
Excellent carbs for energy to get you up and going
High in potassium Helps lower blood pressure
I have peanut butter It’s going to give you some
additional protein, it’s going to make it a little bit thicker
I have cocoa powder High in antioxidants
Has caffeine in there So it’s going to give you
a little bit of a boost Like a coffee smoothie all in one shot
We’re going to be using some almond milk I have 16 ounces
We’re going to use a little water to thin out the almond milk
so your not using it all at the same time I have some ice cubes to give it a little
iciness And my favorite appliance
in the whole world the nutribullet! (or any blender will do)
All you really need to do is just add the ingredients right into the bullet
If you don’t have one of these use your blender by all means
Definitely think about picking one up it’s really going to make your life easier
This peanut butter is really going to make it smooth and it’s going to
give it a nice thickness Like I said I am using 2 tablespoons
I’m using 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder This cocoa powder is going to give
it a really great chocolaty zing and like I said before it has
that caffeine, so you’re going to get a nice little boost to wake you up
Delicious almond milk and about 3 to 4 ounces of water
and if you notice it goes right to the max line on the bullet
you do not want to go above that I put that water in there just
to stretch the almond milk out just to give it a little better consistency
and also to save you a little bit of money because almond milk is expensive
Throw in a couple of ice cubes I’m going to put in about 3
You don’t have to add ice if you don’t want to
Guys Nutribullet recommends that you don’t mix this for longer than 30 seconds
at a time You can burn out the motor and you
don’t want to do that So I’m just going to pulse this
for about 30 seconds If you’re using a blender you can
let it go a little longer Let’s check our consistency
Now remember guys if you want this thinner add a little more almond milk or
a little more water, if you want this thicker add some chia seeds
that have been milled or some flax seeds and that will really thicken it up
Also really, really good for you Aside from this being absolutely delicious
It’s going to keep you full and it’s really going to give you a lot of energy
to really help you start your day Also I just wanted to point out that
the night before if you want take your nutribullet add all those
ingredients minus the peanut butter Put it in the refrigerator
When you get up in the morning add the peanut butter, throw it on
30 seconds and you have breakfast! Quick, fast and on the go!
There is no reason you can’t do that So thanks again Brian for this recipe
It’s awesome, tastes delicous We will see you next time!

Looks great! I love hte idea to pre make this and leave it in the fridge. Would you leave the milled steel cut oats out of it overnight in the fridge?
    Edit: clarification

great video.  do you just use raw cocoa powder or is it a sweetened variety?  I tried making hot chocolate with some special cocoa powder from whole foods and it tasted like bitter death.

best combo ever chocolate peanut butter and banana. im not sure about the cocoa powder since it has caffeine and i cant have caffeine.. is there a better substitute for it for this smoothie? id love to try it.

This is one of my favorite smoothies. I've been making this for a couple of years. QUICK TIP: If you want it cold and dont want to use ice, I always cut my banana's up in chunks, place them in a ziplock bag and freeze them. I always have these frozen and on hand b/c I use them in different smoothies. If you use frozen fruit, its always cold and you never have to add ice.

P.S. I also add raw honey in this smoothie… DELICIOUS!

i make something similar every morning + chia seeds, tbsp olive oil and a chocolate whey. Sometimes i even add greek yoghurt. Don't add ice: freeze your bananas.

I am making this for my breakfast in the morning. I make my own quinoa milk and I have a Magic Bullet that works really well. Thank you for your great smoothie and video.
