A LOT OF TIMES WE CALL IT MEDITERRANEAN DIET. I TRY TO STEER AWAY FROM THE TERM DIET. IT SHOULD BE A LIFESTYLE CHANGE. IT’S REALLY EASY TO INCORPORATE THIS INTO YOUR LIFESTYLE. WE HAVE LOTS OF RESEARCH ON PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN AREA AND THEY HAVE LOWER RISK OF HEART DISEASE, DIABETES THAT ARE RAMPANT IN THE U.S. THEY ALSO HAVE A LONGER LIFESPAN. WE ARE STUDYING THESE PEOPLE AND WONDER WHAT IT IS ABOUT THEIR LIFESTYLE. WE THINK IT IS BECAUSE OF THE TYPES OF FOODS THEY EAT. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THEY EAT THAT WE CAN INCORPORATE IN OUR DAILY LIVES? I STUDIED THERE IN COLLEGE. I HAVE FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE. FOCUSING ON EATING MORE SEAFOOD. IT HAS A BENEFICIAL FACT THAT WE DON’T GET A LOT OFF. FAT IS NOT BAD. YOU WANT TO GET THE RIGHT TYPES OF FAT. UNSATURATED FATS FOUND IN FISH AND SEAFOOD AND ALSO OLIVE OIL. A LITTLE BIT OF GARLIC AND OF COURSE OLIVE OIL WILL BE AND MOST EVERY MEDITERRANEAN DISH. YOU CAN USE WHATEVER YOU HAVE AT HOME. YOU CAN USE FRESH HERBS WHICH WOULD BE AWESOME. I HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF ITALIAN SEASONING THAT HAS THOSE TYPICAL FLAVORS. YOU MIX SET UP AND THEN YOU COULD ACTUALLY USE YOUR REGULAR FRESH OR FROZEN EDAMAME YOU CAN GET AT THE STORE. I AM A HUGE FAN OF THIS DRIED EDAMAME. AT IT’S OUR CRUNCH AND IT’S GREAT FOR SALADS AND DRESSES LIKE THIS. AND OF COURSE OUR FETA CHEESE WILL GIVE IT MORE FLAVOR. AND FETA IS ONE OF THE BETTER CHEESES YOU CAN CHOOSE SOFTER CHEESES ARE A LITTLE BIT LOWER IN FAT. AND THEN YOU LET THIS MARINATE. THE LONGER THIS SYSTEM WHY THOSE FLAVORS MERGE. SO YOU CAN MAKE IT AHEAD OF TIME.
