Intermittent Fasting for Leaky Gut & Autoimmune | Dr Peter Osborne | Fasting Summit

– Your gut needs a break
and so with fasting, the mechanism is you take away the work that the gut has to do or
that the gut has been doing. Just like if you need a holiday or just like if you needed a
vacation, you needed time off, you could go recharge your batteries, you could go renew yourself. Well when does your gut get to do that? Because as you probably
know, most nutritionists tell you to eat small meals especially if you’re
trying to loose weight they say eat small meals spread out over the course of the day, your gut never gets a break, it’s always being asked to do work. You could put somebody’s
autoimmune pain into remission, well I say remission,
their pain would go away in as quick as 48 hours
if they quit eating. So that was kind of my first endeavour into the research and the science behind how fasting could help people with autoimmune disease. So intermittent fasting, the
16h strategy is safe for anyone including pregnant women,
including breastfeeding women. (upbeat music)
