How to Make Banana Bread Superfood Smoothie Recipe with Bananas, Walnuts and Dates

Hello, this is Doctor John Fitzgerald and
get ready to learn with My Nutrition Advisor. Today I am going to show you how to make a
banana bread superfood smoothie. This recipe came on inspiration from my mom.
When I was a kid, my mom used to make the best banana bread when she would pull it out
of the oven, I just couldn’t wait to slice into it. So delicious. The thing about banana
bread superfood smoothie recipe that I’ve come up with, is it’s awesome for your brain. What we have here is we have one cup vanilla
almond milk, I prefer sweetened. The thing about your brain is, it’s coated
in a layer of cholesterol. So I have things here that help the cholesterol level of your
brain such as dates. Dates help circulation. Think of all your carotid arteries and important
blood flow up to your brain and they also help normalize cholesterol levels. When you
grab a date, you have to peel out the pit. You don’t want to put that in your smoothie. We have walnuts. Walnuts are also good for
cholesterol levels and if you notice, walnuts actually look like a brain. There are certain
foods that look like organs of your body and a lot of people believe that those particular
foods are good for that specific organ. Case in point, a walnut looks like the brain and
it contains healthy fatty acids that actually help your brain. Another thing walnuts do
is help normalize melatonin levels, which is up chemical in your brain that helps you
sleep at night. What we have here is bananas. Bananas contain
tryptophan. Tryptophan is important to make serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter in
your brain So we have three ingredients that are very
strong for the brain and then what we have is our superfood mix next called Ancient Delight
from My Nutrition Advisor. We have 2 tablespoons. What this contains is hemp seeds, flax seeds,
chia seeds. All have important fatty acids. It helps your brain function, it helps the
cholesterol level in your brain and then it has superfoods in there like reishi mushroom,
maca. And it also has something in here called turmeric, which is, it looks kind of like
a ginger root except it’s an orangish color and what this stuff has actually been shown
to do is reduce your risk of getting Alzheimer’s drastically and it helps its prevent something
is called beta-amyloid plaquing. So essentially what all this mix does together
when we combine a superfood mix with these ingredients, we have a superfood smoothie
here that’s awesome for brain function. All we need to do is take them, throw them
in the blender, add a couple cups of ice, blend and enjoy. Make sure you thoroughly blend these to get
everything ground up in here. Sometimes I run it for three to four cycles on the smoothie
setting or I may run some of these three minutes to completely grind everything up. It just
tastes better that way. This tastes so much like the bread that my
mom used to make. It’s something I am sure you are going to enjoy. Thanks for tuning in.
