Going Low Carb for Weight Loss

Low carb diets may lead to more weight loss
but results in higher cholesterol than low fat diets. I’m Erin White and this is a dailyRx
Minute. Is one diet really better than the other? A recent study found that individuals
on very low carbohydrate diets lost a little more weight than those on low fat diets over
the long-term. However, both the good and bad cholesterol levels increased more for
those on the very low carb diets. Talk to your doctor about nutrition and finding the
right diet for you. For dailyRx TV, I’m Erin White.

Where does this nonsense come from? Could it be that some people on low carb diets replaced their carbs with fats? In fact cholesterol levels are under genetic control such that one group will have raised cholesterol on a low fat diet while the other group will have lower cholesterol on a moderate to high fat diet.
